Harbor Springs Area Fire Department

We are a volunteer organization of about 25 men and women. Our fire equipment includes:

  • Class A pumper with 1000 gal of water
  • Class A pumper tanker with 1500 gal of water & extrication tools
  • Class A rescue pumper with 1000 gal of water & full extrication tools
  • Class A 108 ft ladder truck
  • Tanker with 2500 gal of water
  • 4×4 brush truck
  • 4×4 mini pumper
  • Track ATV with Rescue Sled

Our main station is on State Road near the public schools and the sub station is near M-119/Pleasantview Road intersection at Township Hall.

Our Mission

To provide the most effective, efficient fire and life safety services to the residents and visitors of our town as well as the surrounding areas within our jurisdiction – Little Traverse Township, West Traverse Township, Pleasantview Township, City of Harbor Springs – while protecting property and environment.

The Volunteer Members of the Harbor Springs Area Fire Department serve the following Harbor Springs area communities:

  • West Traverse Township
  • Little Traverse Township
  • Pleasantview Township

Mutual Aid is also given to surrounding communities, including Bear Creek Township, Cross Village, Littlefield Township, Readmond Township, Friendship Township, and Pellston.
